Standard Tabs for Modal Dialogs

Introduction

Many modal dialogs have content-specific fields on the basic tab, and possibly even content-specific additional tabs, that are described in their respective dedicated topics. Additionally, many modal dialogs have tabs for the generic concepts of:

Aliases
Definitions
HyperLinks

These concepts are implemented according to ECSS-E-TM-10-25.

These are described in this topic.

The Advanced tab provides information that may be useful mostly to CDP™ database administrators. Given are the UniqueID and the Revision Number.

Aliases

According to ECSS-E-TM-10-25 an Alias is a representation of an alternative human-readable name for a concept¹.

Definitions

According to ECSS-E-TM-10-25 a Definition is a representation of a textual definition in a given natural language².

HyperLinks

According to ECSS-E-TM-10-25 a HyperLink is a representation of a hyperlink consisting of a URI and a descriptive text³.

Managing Aliases, Definitions and HyperLinks

A description of the available functionalities is given below. These functionalities are themselves implemented using Modal Dialogs for the entries for aliases, definitions and hyperlinks, consisting of a Basic and Advanced tab, as well as content-specific tabs, such as the Citations tab for definitions. Next to these it is possible to use the generic functionality using the Help icons.

Create

To create a new entry for these, select the Create icon or in the context menu select Create.

Provide the following information:

For an alias: provide Content, and specify the Language Code
For a definition: provide Content, and specify the Language Code, and optionally provide Notes or Examples on the Basic tab, and Citations on the Citations tab.
For a hyperlink: provide a URI, Content, and specify the Language Code

After this, click Ok to create the new entry.

Edit

To edit an existing entry, select the Edit icon or in the context menu select Edit. Edit the required fields of the applicable entry and click Ok to transmit these changes to the connected data source.

Inspect

To inspect an entry, select the Inspect icon or in the context menu select Inspect. In the Inspect modal dialog, all the details can be seen on the Basic and optionally content-specific tabs. Additionally the status of the entry is given by the check box for Deprecated, see the description of delete below.

Delete

To delete an entry, select the Delete icon or in the context menu select Delete. Items from the CDP™ are never completely deleted, but they are marked as Deprecated. This deprecated status is an indication to users that it should not be used anymore.
